Chairman's Corner, February 18, 2025

I want to wish everyone a happy Presidents Day. We celebrate the Presidents who have given so much: Washington, Lincoln, Reagan, and now Donald J. Trump. I truly believe President Trump will be recognized as the president who saved America. I hope we place his face on Mount Rushmore someday in the future. It would be wonderful to see his carving right next to Lincoln, who gave his life to this country.

President Trump took office on January 20, 2025, and urgent changes quickly occurred. Who can keep up? Every day, there is a new change coming from this administration. President Trump promised many changes to our Government, but not everything can occur immediately. Since President Trump is not a dictator, some changes must go through Congress. We must count on the Senate to work with him. Not all executive orders can fix everything; realistically, if President Trump did everything by executive order, people would be screaming Dictator.

With Elon Musk at the head of DOGE, Department of Government Efficiency, many hard decisions on streamlining the Government are rapidly occurring. Our Government is bloated with employees who are not needed—our gross national debt as of February 17, 2025, is 36.49 trillion dollars. We cannot sustain just the interest alone. Why is the United States in debt to this extent? Therefore, someone must make these hard decisions. We need to reduce our debt; that is a complex, cold fact, and yes, some people will lose their jobs; unnecessary departments are going to be dismantled in the various government sectors, but it must be done.. Thankfully, President Trump has paused for 90 days to evaluate how the taxpayer's money is being spent. We need this, so everyone needs to be grateful and patient. Thankfully, we have put a pause on this spending. I have located DOGE websites so that you can stay updated on its transparency and effectiveness. One cannot discuss the US debt without mentioning the USAID, the United States Foreign Aid Agency. John F. Kennedy 1961 created the Foreign Assistance Act. Initially, the USAID was to be an independent agency of the United States Government. Our national budget allows for $40 billion in United States aid to other countries. This budget item sounds reasonable until you understand how USAID has morphed into a different organization. According to USASpending.gov, taxpayers have shelled out billions upon billions upon multiple millions throughout the years—specifically, $37.5 billion in fiscal 2021, $47.76 billion in fiscal 2022, $50 billion in fiscal 2023, almost 44.2 billion in fiscal 2024. They have become countries of victimization and cannot take care of themselves. Instead of our Government overseeing the program, the Government started outsourcing the funds to grantees and contractors. The funds are sent to NGOs frequently influenced by the United Nations and China. This method leaves us with very little accountability for spending our taxpayer money. We are now demanding transparency, and Elon Musk is doing just that. Delving into how our money is spent is mind-blowing. DOGE will be a game changer in our country's deficit, and I say, "Keep on going, Elon."

USAID is a massive pool of waste and corruption and should be shut - Washington Times https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2025/feb/3/usaid-massive-pool-waste-corruption-shut/

The Trump administration has temporarily frozen all foreign aid. People worldwide are panicking since we have been overly generous with taxpayers' money. Marco Rubio, our new Secretary of State and Acting Director of the AID agency, stated, "This is not about ending this department but ensuring that everything the department does is in alignment with the national interest and foreign policy of the US." Rubio also announced there is a process for countries that rely on our foreign aid to apply for waivers for humanitarian assistance.

Unfortunately, some countries heavily rely on foreign aid to their detriment. In my opinion, countries relying heavily on these funds are welfare countries. They have become countries of victimization and cannot take care of themselves.

Let me share a historical example of the corruption that occurred in 2010. Once more, we must know our history, or we will be doomed to repeat it. Haiti is a country that has been accepting assistance since long before the 2010 earthquake. Haitians once were food self-sufficient, but the Clinton's had influenced agricultural policies since the 1990s, which was a disaster for Haiti. The Haitians now depend on USAID and Foreign Aid for their food. The 2010 earthquake hit Haiti while Hilary Clinton was Secretary of State. The US was to come and help rebuild their country. Those who benefited from the earthquake disaster were private contractors, the Clinton Foundation, and many other organizations, not the Government of Haiti. How the Clinton's robbed and destroyed Haiti The Canada-Haiti Information Project (https://canada-haiti.ca/content/how-clintons-robbed-and-destroyed-haiti) Haiti was never completely rebuilt. Hopefully, the Trump Administration will be able to help Haiti get back on its feet in the future.

In the interest of our nation, we need to be a leader in the world. We are, by nature, a

generous country. Therefore, we cannot eliminate USAID, but we can be responsible and transparent with taxpayers' money. As a taxpayer, I understand that each country has its own culture, and we must respect their individuality. The United States should encourage democracy and equal rights by understanding a country's culture. However, we have spent billions of dollars in foreign countries on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). How about $70,844 for a DEI Musical in Ireland? In Serbia, USAID gave an LGBTQ advocacy organization through the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights 1.5 million dollars. USAID paid this organization three monthly payments of $500,000. The USAID funded a transgender opera in Columbia for $47,020. We have donated hundreds of millions of dollars to Afghanistan used for irrigation ditches and farming equipment for the cultivation of Poppy, i.e., heroin. This project does not help the citizens of Afghanistan. It only benefits the Taliban. The list goes on and on, and fraud and abuse will stop- with President Trump and DOGE.

Here are only a few examples of the WASTE and ABUSE:

President Trump has given DOGE the go-ahead to scrutinize other departments of the

Government. Senator Bernie Sanders is on board with DOGE as long as Elon looks at the Pentagon. Of course, President Trump just gave Elon the green light for the examination of the Pentagon. The waste at the Pentagon will be massive. I will be highly interested in that report.

"Times are a changing," and we are in for a roller coaster ride. I am so excited that I am alive for this time in history because history is made daily. We voted for this, so we must continue to support President Donald Trump and J.D. Vance; some things on the agenda will take time and years.
