Explanation of AB64: Current law requires that the public be given an opportunity for public comment at the beginning of the meeting, at the end of the meeting, and before an agenda item is voted on by the public body. This bill requires that during each period for public comment each speaker must be allowed to provide at least 3 minutes of public comment.Â

Please vote Yes on AB64 which provides that during the public comment in a public meeting each speaker must be given 3 minutes to speak. This is very reasonable and appropriate requirement which provides citizens the opportunity to address their elected and appointed officials; and express our personal opinions.
